This year’s appeal will support the work of the charity “Mary’s Meals” Please be as generous as you can be as you remember that this is one of the central actions of the Lenten season. White boxes are available at the back of church for you to take away and ‘top up’ during the next few weeks. Please return them at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday.
You can find out more about “Mary’s Meals” at https://www.marysmeals.org.uk/
In short, Mary’s Meals now feeds 1,425,013 of the world’s poorest children every day they attend school, serving children across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America.
The charity’s aims are: (1) To provide a daily meal, in a place of education, for children in the world’s poorest communities; (2) To provide relief for those suffering, in any part of the world, as a result of humanitarian crises or poverty; to help people escape poverty; and to provide care for orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children; (3) To raise awareness in the UK and worldwide of poverty issues through education.
